Where can I find the PWS or IIS software?


Active Server Pages (ASP) web systems required Microsoft web server in order to execute properly.

Open your installed program User Guide file to check if your web system required a Web Server to run.

Windows 95

The web server is the Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS) 4.0.

You can install PWS by following the instructions as below:

1. Put the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack CD into your Cd-Rom driver.

2. Open the folder [SetupCD]\[win.95] folder and double click "default.htm" file to open.

3. Click the "Install" hyperlink at the left hand side of the web browser.

4. Click on the "Intall personal web server" hyperlink and follow the instructions on the setup program.

Windows 98

The web server is the Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS) 4.0.

You can install PWS from the Windows 98 CD by running setup.exe in the [add-ons]\[pws] folder.

Windows NT 4.0 Server

Windows NT 4.0 web server is the Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0.

To install IIS, follow the instructions as below:

1. Put the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack CD into Cd-Rom driver.

2. Open the folder [setupCD]\[winnt.srv] folder and double click default.htm file to open.

3. Click the "install" hyperlink at the left-hand side of the web browser.

4. Click "Install Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack" hyperlink and follow the instruction of the setup program.

Windows 2000

Windows 2000 web server is the Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0.

To install it, follow the instructions as below:

1. Click the Windows "Start" button, point to "Settings" and click on "Control Panel".

2. Double click on "Add/Remove Programs.

3. Click the "Add/Remove Components" tab.

4. In the Pop Up windows, select the Internet Information Services, and click Next button.

5. This will start the Installation. You may be required to insert the Windows 2000 Setup CD to your Cd-Rom drive in order to install additional required system files from the CD.

6. Follow the Windows instruction to finish the web server setup.
